VRMesh v7.0 mainly focuses on the improvement of the Survey module. More than twenty new features have been added into the Survey module, which significantly enhanced the usability of VRMesh Survey in the field of LiDAR data processing. The ShapeFile format is supported in version 7.0.
Meanwhile, a fly-to visualization mode is added. A dynamic display mode for large coordinates is added. Interface design is enhanced by adding a combination of icons and text labels. As always, some bugs have been fixed.
New Features:
Classification Routines: there are 14 point cloud classification tools included in this group, for examples, detect vegetation, detect building roofs, clean ground points, add point to ground, as well as classify by low points, high points, isolated points, absolute elevation, height from ground, intensity , color, and etc.
Extract Building Footprints: automatically extracts footprints from the classified building roofs.
Edit Building Footprints: allows you to split, move, or draw a footprint manually.
Create Building from Footprint: automatically creates 3D building models based on the extracted building footprints.
Classify by Object: classifies points based on the shape of a reference object.
Classify by Centerline: classifies points based on how close they are to a centerline.
Classify by Tunnel: classifies points based on the shape of a tunnel.
Place/Adjust Catenary String: lets you manually place/adjust a catenary curve from tower to tower.
Detect Powerlines: automatically classifies points along a catenary curve in a given class.
Create Grid Surface: creates a grid surface from the visible points on the screen.
Assign Region Class: reclassifies all points in a region which means a continuous segment of a surface.
Extract Region Using Widget: extracts points inside a widget.
Extract Region Using Bounding Box: extracts points inside a bounding box.
Extrude Surface Curve: creates a meshed object by extruding a surface curve along a specified direction.
Fly to: moves the current camera's focal point to the point of interest. The movement is animated over the number of frames specified in the parameter window.
Coordinate Display: two coordinate display types have been added into the System Properties working panel. The Static type uses the original center (0, 0, 0) of world coordinate as the center of project. The Dynamic type uses the center of the selected object as the center of project, which is useful for displaying an object with large coordinate values.
Enhanced Features:
Globe Registration: bugs fixed.
Fill Holes: bugs fixed.
Clip by Polyline: bugs fixed.
Mesh to NURBS: bugs fixed.
